An Australian mom has revealed that you can ripen an avocado into a leaf in just ten minutes
She avoids disaster by using her plane to ripen her wrist.
First she covered it in foil and turned her plane to 200C and then took out the avocado for ten minutes.
When it came out it was easy to mash.
“It changes the taste and texture a bit and I would recommend letting it cool in the fridge, but it works,” he said.
And while he admits he would prefer to use a ripe avocado, he said the trick works “in a pinch.”
The woman discovered the trick when she discovered that she did not have ripe avocados at home when she had to make guacamole for dinner.
HOW CAN I REGISTER MY AVOCADO?
There are several ways to ripen avocados depending on the time you have.
1 – Wrap it in foil and place it in a plane at 200C for 10 minutes.
2 – Put in the microwave on high for 10 to 20 seconds.
3 – Put in a container with a banana – it will ripen in two days.
Hundreds of home cooks liked the simple hack that could end up “saving the day” if dinner was prepared and no ripe avocado could be found.
“We were in the same situation, thank you very much for that,” said one home cook.
“It’s amazing information, thank you very much,” said another.
Others said that bananas can ripen in the same way.
Others had questions about what the fruit looked like when it came out of the leaf – but the woman who posted the trick assured them it was still green inside.
Some do the same thing using a microwave.
“Do not use foil and put it in for 10 to 30 seconds,” said one person.
HOW CAN I KEEP MY AVOCADO FRESH?
Immersing halved avocados in cold water will keep the fruit fresh and stop the skin from turning brown, according to a video on TikTok.
Avocados quickly turn brown after being shredded due to an enzyme called polyphenol oxidase found under the skin.
Once cut, the enzyme reacts with oxygen in the air, turning the surface dark brown.
Cold water prevents oxygen from penetrating the skin and reacting with the enzyme, which retains its pale green color.
Chefs have been using the trick for years, storing halved avocados in water baths until needed.
But it seems that many outside the hospitality industry did not know until the video was released on July 4, with thousands of nearly 900,000 viewers thanking the poster for showing them how to get better value than the popular Millennium Fruit.
