A woman killed in a M4 car crash in Bridgend County was a "loved, unselfish, and protective" mother of four from Swansea.
Susan Elizabeth Curtis, 50, died in a crash between Peak 35 and 36 on the Pencoed at Sarn – at about 7:40 AM on Sunday.
Her husband Leighton and children Sam, Ben, Emily and Rebecca said: "Mam has always been doing something for others.
"We can not begin to look at the gap he has left," they added.
The family said that Mrs Curtis was "strongly strong and independent".
The Welsh ambulance service said on Sunday the Renault Clio aquaplaned before the crash in the central detention.
The South Wales police continue to investigate the cause of the conflict.
