ABU DHABI – The Department of Climate Change and the Environment of the UAE announced the launch of a national electronic system for improving environmental performance and a map of industrial facilities in the UAE.
"The state-of-the-art industrial facility map is a spatial information platform to provide information on the facilities of the industrial premises of each emirate," said Aisha Mohammed Al Abdooli, director of the ministry's green development department.
Al Abdooli pointed out that there are more than 7000 industrial centers in different emirates, noting that the map provides information such as the extent of industrial facilities after natural refuges, forest zones and residential complexes.
He explained that the map of industrial facilities can be obtained at the state level by visiting the website of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
It stressed that the national electronic system for enhancing environmental performance aims to implement the initiative in a modern and intelligent way, by creating a national system linking the parties to ensure that the necessary information is provided when deciding, except to inform the person concerned in the case of young people.
He said the environmental upgrading initiative aims to improve the UAE global competitiveness index, in line with the UAE targets of 2071, to make UAE one of the best countries in the world in all sectors and to achieve the vision of the UAE 2021.
It is worth noting that the national computerized system includes pages dealing with consultancy firms, industrial units, environmental impact studies and existing and future environmental legislation at state level.
