The first edition of the Diplomatic Conference of Abu Dhabi, held under the auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayet al-Najhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was held today by the UAE Diplomatic Academy in Abu Dhabi.
More than 300 leaders of diplomacy, thought, ministers, ambassadors and prominent international figures from academics, diplomats and international relations attended the conference to discuss diplomacy during the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The topics at the conference included ways to address 21st Century diplomacy and its practices on gender budgeting, diplomacy and technology and culture challenges.
Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Foreign Minister and Board Member of the UAE Diplomatic Academy, spoke on the second day of the conference on cultural diplomacy, stressing that the UAE has many creative talents.
"We believe that our creative talents will enhance understanding between us and different cultures, and we will highlight the nature of the UAE and its prominent position to be the ideal model that other countries aspire to pursue," he said.
He added that the UAE Diplomatic Academy continues to make a positive contribution to the leadership of the UAE diplomacy and pointed out that the Abu Dhabi diplomatic conference was a valuable opportunity to learn the latest methods and best practices of diplomatic work from around the world to reform the future of diplomacy and to strengthen the UAE's leadership position in the region and beyond. .
For her part, Susana Malcorra, former Foreign Minister of the former Argentine Republic, stressed during a session entitled "The Future of Multilateral Diplomacy" the importance of opening a constructive dialogue and sharing knowledge in the diplomatic work.
