The Samsung W2019 offers state-of-the-art S9-based technology that has been available since the beginning of the year. However, as in previous years, it is likely to offer a preview of the next year's smartphone series in the Galaxy S series. We can therefore see a configuration here, at least for the camera, which will eventually be found on the Samsung Galaxy S10.
W2019: Samsung has re-launched its luxury foldable luxury phone
Like the Samsung W2018 last year, the new W2019 also features two 4.2 "screens, each mounted on the outside and inside the lid. Both are very high resolution with 1920×1080 pixels and each use SuperAMOLED screens from Samsung's production. Unlike most other current Samsung devices, under the external display here are still the classic Android buttons in the form of capacitive buttons.
Inside, the operation is done either through the touch screen or via the hardware keyboard, which basically serves to facilitate the difficult insertion of Chinese characters into touch devices. In addition to the "Back", "Multitasking", "Home" and "Copy" buttons, which are executed as hardware buttons, there is also a multi-directional D-pad with an additional button in the middle.
Current top technology in odd form
The W2019 is based on today's Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octacore SoC, the high-end SoC that can be found in several other top smartphones in the year 2018, up to 2.8 gigahertz. It is built with six gigabytes of memory and 128 or 256 GB internal flash memory, which is based on UFS 2.1 and can be extended with a microSD card slot.
A small facet of the future with the Galaxy S10 series might offer the rear-facing W2019. There are two 12-megapixel sensors, one of which offers a variable aperture (F / 1,5 – F / 2,4). It is currently called "Smart Iris" (Google Translate) and should be able to automatically select the correct bullet size automatically by means of operations in the field of artificial intelligence. It is clear that this could not be clarified because of the lack of knowledge of the Chinese.
What is certain is that the Samsung W2019 dual camera offers dual optical zoom and is capable of recording 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. Also there is an optical image stabilizer implemented in the material. Other features include Bluetooth 4.2, Gigabit Wi-Fi dual band, NFC and USB-C port. The fingerprint reader is on the side of the case, but Samsung does not have a headphone jack as it did last year.
Speaking of USB-C: The USB 3.1-compatible Gen1 is of course used for charging, with the battery pack offering a capacity of 3070mAh. All the great technology around the two screens and the large battery together with the metal frame ensure a very large weight of 257 grams. When folded, the W2019 is proud of 17.3 mm thick.
The operating system is still Android 8.1 "Oreo" in use, with Samsung using a highly customized design. It is also interesting that luxury Klapphandy is sold along with a special subscription service that gives good-sized owners on request, a car with a driver or other assistance tasks. The Samsung W2019 costs 18,999 yuan in China, equivalent to 2410 euros or 2730 dollars.
