(AP) American singer R. Kelly is accused of sexual abuse in ten cases. The allegations refer to the years 1998 to 2010 and revolve around four to three times minor victims, according to Chicago's prosecutor Kim Foxx on Friday. Three of the victims were between 13 and 16 at the time of the alleged abuse. The Chicago Tribune, referring to court documents, reported that a 52-year-old singer had been issued a warrant. Therefore, Mr Kelly should appear on court on 8 March.
The singer was still on Friday (local time) at the beginning of Chicago. American TV stations showed images of R. Kelly's arrival in front of the police station. Already on Saturday an appointment was scheduled before the examiner, mentioning among others the CBS transmitter.
Previously, according to lawyer Michael Avenatti, a new, 45-minute video was created to show R & B singer sex with a young girl. "Following continued sexual abuse and sexual abuse below 25 years of age for over 25 years, the day of the show arrived at R. Kelly," wrote Avenatti at Twittter. "It has finished."
Kelly ("I think I can fly") was charged with a sexual assault against minors in early January on a television documentary. These date back to the 1990s. Kelly has repeatedly denied claims. His lawyer, Steve Greenberg, has not commented on the charges at the moment. Previously, he had declared that Kelly "refused to do any illegal acts of any kind".
On Thursday, two other women accused Kelly of New York of abusing her. Women, 39 and 40 today, are said to have been 15 and 16 at the time of the attacks. At a press conference, they said they were selected by the singer's staff and were invited to a post-concert party where they were given drugs and alcohol.
