Seattle / Cupertino, California (APA / Reuters) – Amazon is expanding its offer to Apple products. Shortly before the start of Christmas activities, the two US technology competitors agreed to expand their already limited partnership. The world's largest online retailer announced Friday to sell the latest iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch and other devices in the US, Europe, Japan and India in the coming weeks.
So far, Amazon offers only a limited range of Apple products such as Macs and Beats brand headphones. Not included in the new offer, however, she is the streaming speaker of Apple's HomePod, which competes with Amazon's online Echo and Alexa Voice Service.
Amazon, Apple and other US technology names, like Google, have little cooperative power because of the competitive offer of devices and services. However, Amazon and Apple have overcome these differences in order to increase sales in the basic retail year of the year. The new partnership also shows that Amazon's market power continues to grow in importance for leading brands such as Apple and Nike, who have long resisted distributing their products through the online retailer.
At the same time, Amazon is more difficult than falsifying products with branded products. In addition, as of January 4, Amazon will remove from its offer Apple's third-party products that have not been authorized by the iPhone manufacturer to sell. However, customers must still be able to purchase brand-free accessories – such as headphones – at the Internet store, which is compatible with Apple devices.
