Personal information is searched at the back of the internet. Data from, for example, Facebook, Netflix and Spotify are sold illegally for a killer. A person's entire digital life may cost equivalent to SEK 500, according to Kaspersky Lab.

The IT security company has investigated cybercrime as identity and data that counts in Europe. 59 percent of the 7,000 European consumers who are aware are aware that more or less shady players make money selling data, but half do not know how much value of personal information they deserve.

As a result, many people mourn with network security.

"I do not think so much about ignorance, like lazy and naive," says David Jacoby, security expert at Kaspersky Lab.

Often through phishing

The company finds that the whole life of an internet person can be sold for less than $ 50, almost $ 500, on the black market. Social media accounts, bank details and information can be included, among other things, by Netflix, Spotify, and dating. Individual accounts can be sold for one dollar, about ten crowns.

Stolen information can be used for blackmail purposes, where you have to pay to retrieve your bills or sell them to spammers. The money earned may enter into another criminal activity.

Often thefts occur through so-called online fishing.

– Get a link, for example, on Facebook or Instagram. It may trigger an invitation to log in again, but it is false, so when you log in, you will go to the site of the criminals where the information is recorded, says David Jacoby.

Change the password

Most commonly, login credentials are logged in a password-leaked database that Adobe and Linkedin have suffered in recent years.

– Therefore, it is important that they differ and do not have the same code everywhere, says David Jacoby.

To make it easier to remember many different passwords, your tips should not be disturbed. The password does not need to mix uppercase and lowercase letters with numbers to be safe.

– The password can also be "Jaggillarblåabilar". You can have a static password from which you are going, but differ with a specific word on each site.
