The black hole releases radio bursts after years, it should be possible

Researchers at the Jewish University of Jerusalem (HUJI) have found that the first signs of radio bursts radiated long after the Black Hole star was destroyed.

Radio bursts emitted by stars destroyed by black holes are not new in themselves, and scientists have known this in the past. But this only happens immediately, and the radiation of the radio continues long after the destruction of the star.

It is not clear what caused these delayed radio bursts, as they defy existing black hole theories and how these radio bursts work. As a result of this discovery, completely new models will have to be developed to better understand this phenomenon. However, scientists are well aware that this may not be an isolated phenomenon – and in fact it may be common and simply never detected before.

One of the possible theories put forward by the team was that after the star was destroyed, a large amount of debris was finally pulled into the hole. However, the mechanism is unclear.

“What caused the delay and the exact physiological processes responsible for such delayed emissions are still open questions,” Horesh said.

“In light of this discovery, we are actively looking for delayed radio bursts in other tidal events.”
