The Senegalese National Navy seized a large amount of hashish on the high seas on the night of Saturday 5 to Sunday 6 June. The seizure operation took place 140 km from Dakar.
The Navy pulled out the heavy artillery to anchor the passenger ship and its crew consisted of 4 Indians, 1 Moorish, 1 Syrian, 1 Libyan. Indeed, the Navy Special Forces, on the patrol ships Kédougou and Anambé, had the air support of the Air Force naval patrol aircraft.
An investigation is under way to determine the quantity of drugs seized, the origin, the destination of the consignment and the sponsors.
