The Patte D'Oie community hosted this Saturday in Keur Damel, the opening ceremony of the experimental phase of the security consultations panel under the Safe Neighbors program headed by the Help Agency in Paris. proximity security (ASP). The event was jointly chaired by the Director of the Community Security Assistance Agency, Papas Khaly Niang and Mayor Patte d 'Oie, Banda Diop.

ASP Director Papa Khaly Niang welcomed the initiative of the city's Keur Damel, who, according to him, "promotes co-production of security." He believes that "citizens must assume their own security" in a context of rampant insecurity and terrorist threat.

According to the director, the roundtable is a proximity tool to help secure people and their property through a precautionary approach. The application of this device to house surveillance responds to a request by the City Council Keur Damel, said. Before adding that this (the roundtable) will meet every three months to review local security issues.

Its mission will be to inform, raise awareness and rescue the population, alert police forces and gendarmerie forces, after identifying suspicious persons in the neighborhood or finding out the offenses.

The mayor of Patte d 'Oie, Banda Diop, praised the commitment of Keur Damel's regional council, recalling that cities need a "healthy and safe environment." In fact, he asked the director of the local security agency to extend this initiative to other community neighborhoods (the rake of construction, Cité Al Amal, Grand Medine, Soprim, Taxes and sectors, among others) .

The city council will continue to accompany the security panel, assures the mayor who assimilates this in a provision that will strengthen the territorial communities in their mission.

Considering security as an integrated sector, the Mayor of Patte d 'Oie invites stakeholders to gather around a table to reflect on the issue of security.

Neighborhood council chairman Alioune Ndiaye, meanwhile, expressed the joy of choosing his location from the Proximity Safety Agency to launch the experimental phase of the roundtable. He intends to build Damel's "Safe Region" model.
