CAF Cup: Coach Jaraaf is pleased with the victory that rejuvenates his team



Dakar, April 5 (APS) – The Jaraaf team achieved its goal by defeating Salitas FC 2-0 this Sunday in the 3rd round of the CAF Cup, said coach Cheikh Guèye.

“It is true that we lost a lot of chances, but we remain satisfied with this result that allows us to reposition ourselves in the race to qualify for the next round,” the coach said in an interview with APS.

Prior to this match, Jaraaf was the only team in the qualifying group that had not won a match. With this success, the Medina team returns to the Etoile Sportive du Sahel (ESS), in 2nd place with 4 points.

With 5 points, Sfaxien Sports Club holds the first place

of the team, while FC Salitas is in last place with 3 points.

In addition to the accounting result, the Senegalese coach is happy that he managed to prepare his game plan, which consists of “doing the river river very quickly in the opponent’s zone”.

“And this game system, we managed to put it in place and not give opportunities by taking the opponent too high”,

he explained.

Referring to the return meeting, he said that Jaraaf will go “with a competitive spirit to return with a positive result”. He assures us that the Jaraaf team will play to the fullest of their qualifying opportunities.

The goal remains the qualifier for the quarterfinals of the CAF Cup, which requires victory in the next meeting, he said.

The return leg is scheduled for April 11 in Porto Novo (Benin), where the Ouagadougou match was suspended by the African Football Confederation (CAF).
