French automaker Renault, owner of Dacia, announced on Thursday the appointment of Francois Renard as global marketing manager instead of Thierry Koskas, who will become president of Renault Sport Racing, according to a press release.

Francois Renard will be an employee of Thierry Bollore, the manager of the Renault group. In addition to sales and marketing responsibilities, Renard will also be involved in accelerating the digital transformation of the Group's operations.

Born in Paris in 1967, Francois Renard graduated from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris in 1990 and in 1992 began his professional career at Anderson Consulting. He then worked for Unilever, the Anglo-Dutch producer of consumer goods, where in 2017 he was appointed vice president of marketing.

Under the strategy of General Carlos Ghosn, "Drive the Future," the Renault group is set to increase its total sales to 5 million vehicles a year in 2022, with a focus on locations outside Europe. In 2017, group sales increased by 8.5% to 3.76 million vehicles.

Dacia was taken over by Renault in 1999. Restart in 2004 with Logan, Dacia has become a notable player in the European automotive market. One
