The Daiwo Occidental Tigers reached the eighth straight victory, while the San Juan Knights finished a loss of four matches Saturday in the Maharlika Pilipinas League Datu Cup at San Juan City Arena.
The Tigers trained the Navotas Clutch, 72-69, to improve their match with 10-3, while the Knights returned to the winning column with a 71-62 victory over the Sharks of Cebu City.
Leo Najorda and Bogs Raymundo came out on the Tigers' Road with 17 and 10 points even when Mark Yee took the 12-rebound color and contributed six points and four assists. Bonbon Custodio also helped with 10 points, five councils and seven aids.
Meanwhile, the Knights exiled sharks, 28-13, in the second quarter to move away from a narrow 15-14-end edge of the first quarter at 43-27 at halftime and dictate the pace all over.
Larry Muyang drew 12 points and 12 tables for the Knights, while Aaron Jeruta, Ryan Michael Ayon Ayon and Mark Cardona merged for 36 points.
The Knights won their 11th victory in 14 games, pushing the victory of the four games of Karkar to fall to 5-9. The clutch fell to 5-8.
