Itaipu supports the campaign against prostate cancer

Itaipu Binacional is painted blue in the framework of the campaign against prostate cancer that will last in November.
The Occupational Medicine Directorate of the Dam supports the awareness of the importance of annual controls for early detection of the disease.
Felix Ortiz, head of the field, explained that although the disease can not be prevented, its timely detection facilitates successful treatment. The professional commented on the study of the prostate specific antigen (PSA) in the blood, which is an effective way of detecting prostate cancer.
From Friday and throughout the month, the Itaipu Dam lights will be blue. Those wishing to appreciate the light show must be registered in advance at the Visitor Welcome Center, located in Hernandarias. Days are activated on Fridays and Saturdays.
