Before Harry Potter-conceiver J.K Rowling began earning millions by writing successful books, he tried to find Edinburgh in her Scottish home as a foreign language teacher at the Leith Academy.
In her letter, Rowling commends herself and gives her a summary of her earnings as a teacher. Rowling was hired for the job but eventually worked for a short time until her discovery at school.
In 1995 Rowling had already begun writing Harry Potter but found a publisher two years later. It is not clear who the letter is and who gave it for sale.
