The metal plate depicts the Apollo landing unit on the Moon on July 20, 1969.
When transferred to Earth, this plate was attached to a wooden table and served to Arthurston, the first man on the surface of the moon.
The other two astronauts who participated in this flight – Edwin Aldrin, the Buzz alias and Michael Collins, also took the following tables.
The sons of Artemstrong, Rick and Mark, decided to sell part of their father who died in 2012, gathered a very large collection of over 2,000 items.
The collections of items were sold in Dallas from Thursday to Saturday at auction. They were also available on the internet.
Two other sales are scheduled for next May and November. Like the first, they will be organized by the same Auction – Heritage Auction.
The commemorative table was sold for much more than expected, just like the main subject of this auction – the US flag, which was transferred to the Moon but not so full of surface.
