JNF Offers US Forest Service Aid For Recovery From Forest Fires In California | World News

The Israeli environmental organization Keren Kayemet Israel-Jewish National Fund helped to help California recover from the recent devastating forest fires.

"We are watching the situation with the terrifying fires in California, including the unprecedented destruction of the communities and the destruction of the surrounding forests." Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who have died, we want to express solidarity our encouragement and support and offer our help if there is anything we can do to help, "said Daniel Attar, KKL-JNF's World President in a letter he sent to Vi on Tuesday cki Christiansen, the forestry service of agriculture.

The two organizations have worked together for over 30 years, including helping and sharing forestry skills whenever necessary, according to the JNF.

Recently, the US Forest Service helped KKL-JNF in forest fires in northern Israel during 2006 and 2010.

"We pray for your success in extinguishing these fires quickly and without further casualties," Atar concluded.

At least 79 people were killed and nearly 1,000 remained after a fire in northern California and two in southern California near Los Angeles. Thousands of homes and buildings have also been destroyed, including the entire city, and the homes of several Hollywood homes, as well as destroying or destroying Jewish camps, a day school and other Jewish institutions. Heavy rain is expected this week in northern California, which will degrade the fears of more fires there but could bring with it floods and mudslides.

The JNF post offers help from the US Forest Service to recover from California's wildfires first appeared in the Jewish telegraph service.
