The Wesley United Methodist Church of Aurora hosted "Celebrating the Neighbors," an 11th annual thank-you service that included 10 local loyalty communities on November 18th.
Sponsored by Interfaith Aurora, an ecumenical group, the celebration was a theme of "Celebrating neighbors." Music, poems, comments and readings were offered by Christians, Muslims, and Jewish participants.
The faith communities represented were the Aurora Reconstruction Jewish Church, the B & B's Church in Israel, the Saint John's Episcopal Frontier Chapel, Wesley UMC, the Orchard Community, the Sich Community, the Baha'i Community, Church of St. John of Jesus, Catholic Church of St. Joseph, all in Aurora. and the Al Aqsa Mosque, Plainfield.
The music was performed by Wesley UMC Choir, a praise choir of St. John AME who used the American semantic language to accompany singers and musicians of musical instruments and vocal Sikh.
A free-range bid has benefited Jesse Torres boxing club Aurora, a non-profit boxer who teaches the fitness and boxing sport to empower and improve the quality of life of young and Parkinson's patients.
A refinance scholarship ended the event.
