Fan Dev closes the huge GTA San Andreas Mod due to Take-Two

After months of Take-Two Interactive attacks and battles GTA modders, the people behind long-term growth Saint Andrew mod, GTA Underground, have killed the project and removed it from the web due to “growing hostility” from Take-Two and fears of further legal problems.

Dkluin also thanked the community for the support they have received over the past six years and mentioned all the “incredible work” done on the mod and the “wonderful moments” the team experienced working together. GTA Underground is a mod created for GTA San Andreas with the aim of merging all the previous ones GTA maps in a mega environment. The mod still aimed to bring other cities than nonGTA games developed by Rockstar in San Andreas, including the cities featured in Bully and Manhunt.

The mod had already encountered some problems from Take-Two in July. As a result, it was removed from ModDB. It has now been removed from all other official sources and sites.

In 2018, Kotakou interviewed dkluin about the mod and all the work it does. He started growing in this 2014, when he was just 14 years old. GTA Underground is not a simple task of copying and pasting, instead modders have added artificial intelligence and traffic routines to each map, making them fully reproducible as GTA cities. The team also had plans to add more cities to the game, including their own custom creations.

Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive have not shared their official reasons for following these fan-made mods, but many suspect it has to do with the upcoming GTA remasters. As reported by Kotakou last month, Rockstar is working on a collection that includes remastered versions of it Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and Saint Andrew come to Switch and other platformsAlthough the collection has not been officially revealed, sources say it is aimed at a release later this year.
