Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly take the first steps towards returning to television as a twin.

The Geordie couple was segregated for most of this year after Ant was convicted of driving.

As he sought rehab treatment, the 42-year-old resigned from his television engagements, including the last two Saturday Night Takeaway episodes, the live performances of Britain's Got Talent and the upcoming I Celebrity Get Me Out Here!

The plans for 2019 are in the air, with Saturday Night Takeaway lasting a year, but the long-lasting twin has been identified leaving a meeting with their London administration to start a TV return.

A confidential one revealed: "Ant's welfare is at the forefront of everyone's mind and is in a great position.

"But now they are trying to find out how to plan their return and how everything will work."

Ant is expected to return to British Got Talent with December filming the audition stages.

The rapporteur added to the Sun: "It was a difficult time for all."

Simon Cowell, a judge at BGT, said earlier that he wants to welcome Ant to the back.

He told reporters earlier this year: "We have known you for a long time and you stand next to the people you've been working with over the years. Most importantly, it has been manned. He will come back together.

"This happens, it happens to people all over the world. People, for whatever reason, enter a route and in times like this, you are standing next to your companions. It has always been so.

"But the show continues, it's so simple."

Meanwhile, December will unite with Holly Willoughby when I'm A Celebrity returns later this month after Ant's ordination.

"It was part of the discussion off," said Mother of Three at Mail Online. "He is happy to take care of it until he returns. It helps to know each other. "
