Looking at the History of Father's Day that began with mothers



TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The Homeland is celebrated each year in Indonesia on November 12th.

No exception on 12 November 2018, the celebration of Father's Day in Indonesia reached its 12th year since its inception in 2006.

Identifying November 12th as Father's Day in Indonesia seems to have a unique background because it was not initiated by fathers but by mothers.

It is undeniable that Father's Day is less popular compared to the memory of Mother's Day, which falls on December 22nd.

Referring to the official website of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), the memory of Father's Day in Indonesia was born out of a statement made in Solo, Central Java.

The statement was held at the Solo City Hall in Gede, Central Java on November 12, 2006.

Uniquely, the creators of the Day of the Father's Day were not fathers, but mothers.

The mothers who sparked the memory of National Father's Day were women who were members of the Patriotic Society Union (PPIP).
