Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is optimistic about the chances of defeating Ethiopia in the upcoming 2019 World Cup qualifier.
The West African giants are in third place in the F category with three points, four Kenyan leadership maneuvers and one behind Ethiopia, but with two great games.
The four-digit African champions had previously won the 5-1 Walias of Ethiopia at the Baba Yara stadium, lost 0-1 away to Kenya and then the double headline against Leone Stars last month was canceled by the African Football Association CAF) due to suspension of FIFA by the Sierra Leone Football Association. A decision on these two matches has not yet been completed by the CAF.
According to coach Appiah, the conflict with Ethiopia in Addis Ababa on November 18th will determine their place in the final of next year.
"So far we have continued to watch our players and I believe that now the gathering is about how best we can qualify as soon as possible. We have two games in front of us that we just have to win in Ethiopia and then we can all relax" , Appiah told Daily Graphic in an interview.
Appiah said he is optimistic that his preferred players will remain in shape as he calls the final team for the Ethiopian conflict by the end of the week.
"We did not have any problems from now, because the track was going well, there are no injuries from now, so we hope that by the end of this week we have to see the games and then bring the final team for the Ethiopian game," he said. .
Meanwhile, CAF has appointed South African Victor Miguel de Freitas Gomes as the central referee for the Ghana-Ethiopia conflict.
They will help him in the lines of his compatriots, Zacchel Artte Sieva and Johan Selo Mosidi.
