Venezuela's Mariem Velazco, a candidate for Miss International, won the crown in the competition, which took place this Friday in Tokyo, Japan. The contestant is the eighth Venezuelan woman crowned in this competition.
Velazco, who won coronation from his predecessor, the Indonesian Kevin Liliana, received the award on his 20th birthday, so he said it was the best birthday he ever had.
He thanked all the participants and pointed out that after the competition he considered all the part of his family and described how wonderful the time he shared with the candidates and everything he enjoyed in the competition.
"You are a member of my family now and you have a home in Venezuela," Velazco told other contestants.
Venezuela had eight winners during Miss International, three years before Mariem Velazco, the crown was raised by Venezuela's Edymar Martinez. What makes the country the biggest crown winner in this contest.
