Rising cases: 289 new infections were reported in the area in the last 24 hours



In the health balance for today, Friday, April 2, the local authorities reported the death of six people due to Coronavirus, 04 with residence in La Serena, 01 in La Higuera and 01 in Paihuano.

Regarding the details of the new cases, 289 new cases were reported, 93 from La Serena, 62 from Coquimbo, 01 from Andacollo, 01 from La Higuera, 04 from Paihuano, 14 from Vicuña, 22 from Illapel, 03 from Los Vilos, 10 from Salamanca, 38 from Ovalle, 03 from Combarbalá, 19 from Monte Patria, 08 from Punitaqui, 02 from other areas and 09 without notice to the Epivigila System, bringing the total to 27,346 accumulated cases, with 1,267 active infections.

Regarding the situation of the Assistance Network, the director of the Coquimbo Health Service, Edgardo González, stated that 231 patients are being treated in the area as a result of Covid, of which 101 are seriously ill in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 86 of them are connected with mechanical ventilation.

Regarding the availability of beds in the critical care unit, today the health care network has 19 units, of which 12 are from the intensive care unit (ICU), those where mechanical ventilation is used and 7 from the intermediate treatment unit (UTI).

RESPECT MEASURE

In the same vein, health officials reiterated their call for the community to respect quarantine during the big weekend.

“We want to ask for the utmost respect for the health measures for this holy weekend. Do not leave your homes, keep a natural distance and use the mask properly. “We are living in a very complicated time of the pandemic, so we need everyone’s support to prevent new infections of the virus,” said Seremi de Salud, Alejandro García.

The health authority stressed the need for the proper use of individual travel permits. “Do not go out unless it is absolutely necessary. “Let’s live a Great Week in Covid Mode, in our homes and with our relatives,” Garcia added.
