CHAMPION jockeys Hugh Bowman and Craig Williams think Flemington's career is too solid – just after three races.
Bowman, who presented two of the first three winners, said: "This track is very nice, but in my humble opinion it is too strong."
The track was refreshed from Good 4 to Good 3 after the first race.
Williams said that the well-heated surface was against the Skyway Star when the Wakeful Stakes behind Aristia reached the seventh place.
"The strength of the track could have been against it," Williams said.
The condition of the track can be crucial to the various Lexus Stakes competitors in the Melbourne Cup.
Lexus is the last chance to put a host of horses in the cup Tuesday, but now there is a risk that the horses will overturn and stay for a limited time.
