Diabetes claims approximately 2,500 foot amputations per year in KZN

According to the section, about six foot mutilation per day is made in the government hospitals around KwaZulu-Natal.

"We must all therefore try to raise awareness about these diseases, which is why we are urging our compatriots to make lifestyle adjustments.

"Taking on regular exercise, getting rid of bad habits like smoking and alcohol and substance abuse and following a healthy and balanced diet can delay the onset of diabetes and these other diseases," he said.
