A truck carrying more than 100 bodies stopped at N2 near Somerset West on Saturday afternoon.
Police spokesman Colonel Andre Trout confirmed that police were on the scene to investigate the incident.
“We are investigating the circumstances under which the bodies were transported,” Trout said.

Traffic officers reportedly stopped and searched the truck on Bridge N2 near Somerset Mall and found 106 bodies believed to be victims of Covid-19 inside.
The truck was believed to be traveling to the Eastern Cape at the time.
It is understood that the driver was allowed to transport the bodies.
